About your tutor

I was born in raised in Colborne, Ontario, Canada. I completed the IB Diploma Program at CDCI East High School in Cobourg, Ontario where I specialized in biology.

After high school, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, and then obtained an advanced diploma in Biotechnology from Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario.

During my time at these schools, I found I had a love of sciences and took as many lab-related courses as I could. However; despite my interest in and love of the field, I did not want to spend my life in a lab, so I looked for another career path.

I greatly wanted to travel, which led me to the idea of teaching abroad. Mind made up, I began taking an online TESOL program offered through Coventry House International and I began looking for work. I completed my TESOL course in 2019 and after much searching, many interviews, and a lot of paperwork, I landed my first job teaching English in Korea.

My first position was with a YBM English Academy in Busan. I spent over a year there and grew to love the city; however, my school was purchased by a new company and I was asked to transfer to a brand new school in Cheonan, South Korea. I accepted and moved to the new city. I remained there for about 3 years.

I greatly enjoyed my time teaching at this school. Following my time there, I worked for six months at a private tutoring academy, owned by the same company.

Since then, I have returned home to Canada, and have been looking for work opportunities here.

I decided that I wanted to combine my love of learning and teaching into a job that will hopefully allow me to continue educating while giving me the freedom to travel and continue exploring the world. That is why I am now offering my teaching skills on an online platform.
